Week Two

Idea One: Aftermath of a battleground Art style/ Inspiration from Halo 3 ODST The idea came from ODST's ambiance and atmosphere that instills a sense of loneliness and isolation in the aftermath of an alien invasion, the environment feels very empty and abandoned whilst still being very active with hostile forces. Idea Two:      Medieval fantasy  Massive underground mine complex with massive caverns and towering structures Inspiration from Blackreach in Skyrim or the mines of Moria from Lord of the Rings. Idea Three: Heavy Bladerunner/Halo inspiration  Dystopian heavily developed colony world Playable area is the upper floors of a gargantuan skyscraper with windows, the building is the administrative building for the planet  Night time scene with rain, heavy fog and pollution Space elevator with the carriage moving up and down Heavy traffic on street level and flying vehicles (These would be far away due to the playable area being very high up) Big warship ...

Week One

 Game engines A Game engine or a real-time engine is software that renders and updates in real-time, real-time engines are primarily used in video games but are starting to be used widely in industries such as training and film. In training real-time engines are used for training simulators such as flight sims. In film real-time environments are used as background for film shoots, one example of this is The Mandalorian TV Show. Initial thoughts on Unreal Engine Can be quite overwhelming at first but certain things like manipulating objects and moving the camera were quite quick to learn as Maya and Unreal share similar control schemes.
